We did the Everest Base camp trek arranged by Devi Baral of Adventure Nepal Eco Treks and had a fantastic experience. The price came in several hundred euros better than any other operator we researched and was truly authentic experience.
We traveled as a couple and had our own guide, Kumar, and our porter, Sheer, who provided us with hours of fun, information and entertainment. Kumar couldn't do enough for us. He spoke English and Spanish fluently, and taught us plenty of Nepali words along the way too. A language course and trek together!
Devi met us at the airport on the way over and was there for us every time we had to move from A to B. He even took us out for a complementary meal on our last evening and asked us for feedback on the whole experience. We would highly recommend Adventure Nepal Eco Treks to anyone thinking of Trekking in Nepal.
I found Devi and his company Adventure Nepal Eco Treks while I was already in Nepal one day as I was emailing countless number of company's expressing my interest to go trekking. Devi's reply was quick, professional and not pushy like I found most other replies to be...also the English was a very good standard compared to most of the other replies. Fm the reply, I had a good vibe and knew this was the right company to go with. I visited him in his office, and a week later I was in a plane flying to Lukla with my dad and our guide Kumar, ready to go to Everest base camp.
Kumar was an amazing guide, very knowledgable of the area and everything around us. At night, we would chat, play cards, have fun and just enjoy each and everyone's company. Along with our porter, they would take care of everything, meaning that the only thing my dad and I had to worry about was ourselves and getting through each day!
I would defiantly recommended Devi to anyone wanting to go trekking as he took care of everything and made everything easy to organise. I know if I ever come back to Nepal I will go back to adventure Nepal eco treks!
Looking at the older reviews I'm not sure there is much I can add.
We found Adventure Nepal Eco Trekking Company after emailing a number of trekking firms. Most we ruled out straight way because their replies left us feeling we were going to be taken for ride. Devi's reply was professional from the start. We did find some other companies may have been a few dollars cheaper but right from the start we had a good feeling about Adventure Nepal Eco Trek.
Devi arranged a personalized 16 day trekking tour including Gokyo and Everest Base Camp. He arranged everything we wanted him too. We opted to exclude food and lodging from the package and this was no problem. (I'm told that high session greeting a room in the trekking lodges can difficult unless who have guide with the right connections.)
Our guide, Kumar, was great and easy to get along with. His knowledge of the mountains and trekking was the key to a safe and enjoyable trip. Even as the days went by we adjusted our plan to reflect the weather (snow falls had closed the Cho La pass) and own wishes and priorities.
I'm certainly happy to recommend Adventure Nepal Eco Trekking Company to any of my friends.
Devi Baral is a consummate professional guide. His knowledge of Nepal and the Himalaya runs deep. He cares for, and empathizes with his clients so thoroughly, and yet almost effortlessly. He is intelligent, and always willing to share his knowledge with a smile. I can easily say that Devi is one of the best in the business; We are so fortunate to have meet and traveled with him.
Sincerely, Dick Cates
