Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek

Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek is one of the most rewarded trekking trails in Everest region. After flying from Kathmandu to Lukla we will start our trek walking through Chaurikharka and Phakding.  During our entire trek we encounter through beautifully settled Sherpa villages and experience world famous Sherpa culture and their hospitality. We too can add other few hiking options for other additional side trips like high altitude walk which includes the crossing over Cho la pass (5,416m) which is the highest pass in the Khumbu region.  to cross Cho la pass you have to be mentally prepared because it needs 6 hours of vigorous walk and the good physical fitness for adapting in this high altitude.

This exhausting trek gives us the chance to explore the Khumbu valley and around Gokyo lake.  This trail extends up to Kalapathar and Lukla.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 01: From Tribhuvan International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel room. In the afternoon we will invite you to our office for briefing about the each day program. Today we will hand over your Sagarmatha National Park Permits and TIMS.

Day 02: After having breakfast we will do some sightseeing which includes Pashupatinath Swoyambhunath and Boudhanath.

Day 03: Enjoy the most scenic 30minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. As you reach Lukla start the Everest Base Camp Trek to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chheplung. Overnight at Phakding (2640m).

Day 04: Early in the morning after having breakfast trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar(3435m) via Jorsale. From Namche we can see the first glance of Everest.

Day 05: Today we will acclimatize at Namche Bazaar. Today we may rest or hike through the village of Khunde and Khumjung. Khumjung is the largest village of Khumbu region. After having lunch we will hike back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Phortse Thanga via Khumjung, Dudhkoshi Valley. The trail is zigzag. Overnight at tea house.

Day 07: Trek to Machismo which is a short trek that helps you to acclimatize at high altitude. This trial offers the view of Cho You peak (8021m).

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo Lake. Start climbing uphill of the ridge from where we can observe beautiful vista of Kengtega and Cho Oyu and climb downhill to river and again climb uphill to terminal moraine of Ngozumpa glacier. From here the mountain vista of Gokyo region are captivating. After climbing for two hour to Gokyo RI (5350m) it offers the panoramic vista of Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Makalu.

Day 09: Today we will explore the Gokyo Lake. We too will trek to Gokyo Peak which start early in the morning. The summit offers the extravagant vista of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. While climbing down you can enjoy the view of Gokyo Lake.

Day 10: Trek to Dzongla (5330m) via Thanga and Cho La Pass (5414m). Dzongla is a very small village with very few tea houses. Overnight at tea house.

Day 11: After having breakfast trek to Lobuche (4900m). On the way to Lobuche you will see excellent view of Dzongla Lake, Amadablam and Thamserku. Overnight at teahouse.

Day 12: Trek for three hours for Gorakshep (5180m). You will not have time to make for base camp since it takes 6 to 7 hours for round trip so we bring packed lunch.

Day 13: Early in the morning we will climb to Kalapathar to view the sunrise and Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori. After having breakfast we will climb downhill to Pheriche.

Day 14: Crossing villages, Buddhists monasteries, bridges and some waterfall, today we will trek to Tengboche (3890m). Overnight at Tea house.

Day 15: Today we will trek to Namche Bazaar (3435m) via Fungethaga and Sanasa village.

Day 16: Trek to Lukla.which require 6 to 7  hours

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

Day 18: Departure for your onward flight.
