Gokyo Kalapathar Trek

Gokyo Kalapathar trek trail is one of the famous and widely accepted trekking trails in Nepal and helps us to explore and understand the Khumbu region. From Kathmandu we fly to Lukla and from here the real trekking gets started to Phakding followed by Dudh Koshi to the Gokyo valley. Gokyo Kalapathar is an electrifying trek which assists us in conquering the deep valleys of Khumbu. This trial also includes side by side tour to Gokyo Ri (5340m) ultimately leading to kickass view of mountains like Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu with many others.

Gokyo kalapathar Trekking trail yearly attracts thousands of trekkers to discover the beauty of Himalayas, deep valleys, high passes, Buddhists monasteries, culture and religion. Since Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa have victorious ascent on Everest this place has become the hub for tourist.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day01: From Tribhuban International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel room. In the afternoon we will invite you to our office for briefing about the each day program. Today we will hand over your Sagarmatha National Park Permits and TIMS.

Day02: After having breakfast we will do some sightseeing which includes Pashupatinath Swoyambhunath and Bouddhanath.

Day03: Enjoy the most scenic 30minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. As you reach Lukla start the Everest Base Camp Trek to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chhuplung. Overnight at Phakding (2640m).

Day04:Early in the morning after having breakfast trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar(3435m) via Jhorsalle. From Namche we can see the first glance of Everest.

Day05: Today we will acclimatize at Namche Bazaar. Today we may rest or hike through the village of Khunde and Khumjung. Khumjung is the largest village of Khumbu region. After having lunch we will hike back to Namche Bazaar.

Day06: Trek to Phortse Thanga. Early in the morning after having breakfast trek uphill to Khumjung and descends to the valley of Dudh Koshi and we will arrive to Phortse Thanga. Overnight at teahouse.

Day07: Trek to Mochermo. The trail passes through the middle of forest and offers the magnificent vista of Cho Oyu (8201m). Overnight at teahouse.

Day08: Trek to Gokyo Lake via Ngozumpz glacier. The whole trail is zigzag. The mountain vista seen from the Gokyo region is captivating. Further two hours climb to Gokyo RI (95350m); a small peak above the lake offers the spectacular panorama of Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu and Cholatse.         

Day09: Today we will explore the Gokyo Lake. We too will trek to Gokyo Peak which start early in the morning. The summit offers the extravagant vista of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. While climbing down you can enjoy the view of Gokyo Lake. Overnight at teahouse.

Day10: Trek to Dzongla (5330m). Initially walk downhill to reach Thangna village and have tea or coffee. The trail here from here goes directly to Cho La Pass at (5414m). Cross Cho La and walk down hill to Dzongla village. Today might be the difficult day in trekking. Overnight at teahouse.

Day11: Trek to Lubuche (4990m). After having breakfast trek to Lubuche. On the way you can witness Dzongla Lake, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Overnight at teahouse.

Day12: Trek to Gorakshep (5180m). Following the rocky moraine path and watching icy glacial pond and icebergs below the Khumbu glacier a short downhill walk after the last rocky moraine dunes bring us to Gorakshep. Gorakshep is located below Kala Pathhar (5545m) and Mt Pumori.

Day13: Trek to Pheruche (4250m). Early in the morning climb Kala Patthar and enjoy the spectacular view of sun rising. From Kala Pathar one can see Mt Everest, Mt Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbetse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku along with many other. Climb downhill have lunch and trek to Pheruche. Pheruche is a small town where all the facilities of communication are available. Here we can find Himalayan Resque Association Aid.

Day14: Crossing villages, Buddhists monasteries, bridges and some waterfall, today we will trek to Tengboche (3890m). Overnight at Tea house.

Day15: Today we will trek to Namche Bazar (3435m) via Fungethaga,tasingga & Sanasa village.

Day16: Trek back to Lukla. which require 5 to 6 hours

Day17: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla.

Day18:Departure for your onward flight.
