What is Trekking ?

Trekking is the best way to explore this adobe of Himalayas which comprises of natural beauty and cultural riches at its threshold. Walking through the offbeat trail through the Rhododendron forest, isolated hamlets, temples, monasteries, extraordinary landscapes and diverse species of flora and fauna gives you lifetime experience. Trekking is often possible here during any time of the year depending upon where you are going. The most popular seasons are spring and autumn. During winter trekking is possible in lower altitude while in monsoon we will trek in the rain shadow areas in the north of Himalayas like Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo. The best part of trekking in monsoon is that the routes are less crowded. During monsoon we will walk through the lush vegetation as the meadows blossom in full swing. To ensure quality, service and safety it is advisable to make plans through a government Authorized (Adventure Nepal Eco Treks) which lies in Thamel, Kathmandu Nepal.

2 to 4 days

During the short trek you will walk through terraced hillsides where you will encounter with dense moss and Rhododendron forests and beautiful waterfall along with the miraculous vista of snow capped mountains.  From the lower altitude also one can see the extraordinary mountain panorama. During this short period you can trek in Kathmandu Valley, Annapurna Ghandruk circuit and village trekking near Kathmandu and Pokhara.

7 days trekking

This type of trek is suitable for anyone as it does not involve any difficult climbing. Some of the best 1 week are Annapurna/ Poonhill trek, Helambu trek, trekking on Kathmandu valley and Everest Easy trek. Similarly we can also try Shivapuri trekking, Nagarkot trekking, Siklis trekking and Annapurna Royal Trekking.

Two Weeks Trekking

This trek is quite complex and is ideal for any walker looking for something more energetic and challenging. This walk involves walking more up and down and on the way you will be granted with the close up view of majestic Himalayas. Some of the examples for this trek are Annapurna Base camp, Everest View Trek, Gokyo Lake, Langtang Valley trek, Jomsom trek, Muktinath Pilgrim and Upper Mustang Trek.

24 days trekking

This trek involves some steep climbing up to the elevation of 500m. Some of the best destinations for this type of trekking are Annapurna circuit, Everest Base camp, Makalu Base Camp, The Tibetan plateau of Mustang, Everest Cho la pass trek, and Mt Kailash Trek and Manaslu trek. During this trek you will play hide and seek with the mountains. This is sort of trekking will be quite adventurous.

One Month Trekking

This type of trek is for all adventure junkies. This include steep climb to high elevation. Some of the treks have tea houses while the others are organized on full camping expedition. Some of the examples of this type of trek are Jiri to Everest Base Camp, Kanchanjunga trek, Dhaulagiri trek and high passes trek in Everest region.  And the exception, Simikot Trek which is very remote wit truly secluded culture.

More than thirty days trekking

If you have enough time then we will combine trek so that we can explore more this adobe of Himalaya. We can try for Manaslu with Annapurna circuit, Jomsom to Upper Dolpo trek. Dolpo to Upper Mustang and can go for small peak climbing also.

First time Trekking

Usually trekking in Himalayas of Nepal is an extraordinary experience. Some of the most popular routes for trekking are Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and Manasalu. All the trails have tea shops and lodges and the trails between these are well used and in quite good condition.  We have short and easy to long and difficult treks. You can choose your trek according to your time and fitness level.

Usually our trek allows plenty of time to complete the itinerary. To ensure that everyone is in good condition there are acclimatization days in Annapurna Base camp, Everest Base camp and Thorang La pass trek. The climb has no such difficulties and should be within the capabilities of active walker.

Though trekking requires a lot of physical strength but it is not beyond the capabilities of majority of the people. The main thing you should keep in mind is what do you want from trekking; whether you want to see snow capped mountains or walk through the beautiful hamlets bestowed with diverse culture. Another thing you have to keep in mind while trekking is how much do we have and in which time of the year we would like to trek. High passes trek  of 3 weeks to month are often close from December to February due to snowfall but 1 to 2 weeks trek can be easily done. While trekking through the Himalayas of Nepal you will feel like meditating because your whole mind and body will be focused in each and every step. If you are planning to trek through the high pass we advise you to start exercise regularly. Aerobic fitness is the key factor of a comfortable trekking experience.
