14 days Best easy Itinerary for Demanding Everest Base camp Trek
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and Settlement in Hotel
You will be transferred to Hotel room from Tribhuban International Airport. After that you will be noticed about the each day program. Sagarmatha National Park Permits and TIMS are collected on the same day.
Day 02: Flight of Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding Altitude: 2660m Duration: 3-4 hour
After end of the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla arrange your trekking gears with bag and Everest base camp lodge trek down to Chheplung, Chaurikharka. From here the trail continue along the side of Dudhkoshi (Milk River) valley before ascending to Ghats (2530m). The path ascends towards Phakding and you will spend overnight there.
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3535m) Duration: 6-7 hours
The trekking route crosses along the Milk River’s oscillating bridge and lead you along the river to climb to Banker village (2700m). After traveling short distance beyond the Bank of river the trail goes through on suspension bridge to east bank and climb to Chumoa. With completions of registration of trekking permit and TIMS card and you need to climb down towards Dudh Koshi and other side short distance to Jorasalle last village before Namche bazaar and trail crosses back to the east side of the river before climbing to the high suspension bridge over the milk River. You need to walk steady for two and half hour climbing to Namche Bazaar and spend your night at Guest house.
Day 04: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar Altitude: 3535m Duration: 1 day
Namche Bazaar is Sherpa Capital of Solu Khumbu region. Hospitality of Sherpa greatly attract anyone and you can visit Sagarmatha National Park visitor Center. There are so many things to do around Namche Bazaar and you should spend a day here acclimatizing.
It will be helpful to spend a day at higher altitude as part of your acclimatization coming back down to Namche to overnight. It takes 3 to 4 hours round trip to visit Syangboche, Khumjung and Khunde village.
Day 05: Trek from Namche to Tengboche Altitude: 3890m Duration: 5-6 hours
After breakfast in Namche the trial change the pattern slightly goes uphill to Namche and leads you to Tengboche through Sanasa and directly descends to Dudh Koshi River (3250m) where there are several small hotels. Mostly trekkers have lunch break here and climbing up brings you to Tengboche (3890m) the famous Gompa which it background of Ama Dablam, Everest and snow peaks. During the peak trekking season October/November full moon the colorful Mani Rimdu festival is held here with masked dancing and Tibetan Opera in the monastery courtyard. Day 06: Trek from Tengboche to Pheruche Altitude: 4240m Duration: 5-6 hours
The path change the pattern slightly and drops down to Debouche and crosses the Imja Khola. After that we climb through rhododendron forest past superb mani stones craved. Pangboche is the best stop for Lunch break. The path climb across Somare village and Orsho to Pheruche (4240m). Pheruche village possesed more than 10 lodges for overnight stay and medical help is also available there.
Day 07: Acclimatization day in Pheruche Altitude: 4240m Duration: 1 day
Another Acclimatization you will get opportunity of spending a day in Pheruche just resting in village or visit Dingboche and Chukung are possible destination and both offer very good view of snowy peak of the Khumbu Himalaya.
Day 08: Trek from Pheruche to Lobuche Altitude: 4620m Duration: 5.5 hours
The trail continues from Pheruche then the trail slightly change the pattern and climbs uphill phulang Khola (4340m) smoothly two and half hour trek to Thukla. From Thukla the trail goes directly up the gravely terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier for one and half hour than bears let to group of memorials to lost international climber and Sherpa, including Scott Fischer who died in the 1996 Everest disaster.It is short climb past view of Mt. .Day 10: Trek from Gorkasep to Lobuche Altitude: 4930m Duration: 3 hours
Tourist visiting for the first time to visit Everest base camp (5380m) it will take 6/7 hours round trip from Gorkasep. If you are travel in April/May there is full of fixing tent because of climbing peak season. But in other month there is not great time to see except for view of Khumbu Icefall; there is no view from Everest base camp, if you only have energy for side trip better to climb Kalapathar. Another two hour walk down hill to Lobuche and some trekkers can walk to Pheruche or Dingboche, but this depends on your physical fitness.
Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Dingboche Altitude: 4410m Duration: 3-4 hours
The trek route slightly change the pattern and goes down to Dingboche from Lobuche and it will take about 3 to 4 hour. You can spend the night at Dingboche (4410). There are plenty of better lodges and amazing view of Island peak Lhotse and other snowy peak of the Khumbu Himalaya which is magical.
Day 12: Trek from Dingboche to Namche (3535m), 6-7 hours Trek Altitude: 3535m Duration: 7-8 hours
The trekking route slightly goes down to Namche via Orsho, Somare, Pangboche, Imja Khola, Debouche, Tengboche, fingethaga,Sanasa and finally trail stop at Namche Bazaar and overnight. Namche Bazaar is Sherpa capital, also business center of Khumbu region. Internet cafe, money changer and now became an alpine resort.
Day 13: Trek from Namche to Lukla (2850m), 6-7 hours Trek Altitude: 2850m Duration: 6-7 hours
The path of trek steeply goes down through Rhododendron and Pine forest to Jorasalle it will take about two hour and another 5 hour walk to Lukla through Monju, banker, Phakding, Ghats Khola, Chaurikharka, Chheplung and arrival in Lukla and overnight at Guest house.
Day 14: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1350m) Altitude: 1350m
Early morning joyful flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer your Hotel. During the day you will have rest after long journey in the Khumbu Himalaya and Evening fare well dinner.
