Later, after two centuries the fifth Dalai Lama Lobsang Gyatso transferred the administrative center to Lhasa and started building Potala palace; since then Lhasa has not look back. When we talk about today’s scenario Lhasa has some very old but active monasteries which is visited by numerous Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims.
KTM to Lhasa.Morning we will fly from KTM to Lhasa an hour over the panoramic Himalayan Ranges to the capital of Tibet Lhasa , elevation of 3640m is lies on the north bank of Kyichu River. Lhasa in Tibetan means Place of the Gods, the residence of the Dalai Lama., On arrival we will be meet our local representative & transferred to hotel. (60 km/ 1 hr). rest in the afternoon to adjust. Overnight at hotel.
Lhasa After having breakfast continue for full day sightseeing of Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and & Norbulinka. Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. Norbulingka meaning 'Treasure Park' covers an huge area considered to be the biggest man made garden in Tibet. After Sight seeing we will be back to hotel for Overnight.
Lhasa After having breakfast full day sightseeing of Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery, Barkhor Market. Sera Monastery, 5 Kms north of Lhasa, Sera setting is one of Lhasa's prettiest monasteries. Once a community of more than 4/5 thausands of monks resided here & was practically extinguished by the Chinese. Jokhang Temple, situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet's most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. After sight seeing we will be back to hotel for overnight stay.
Lhasa/Kathmandu Today check-out from hotel & in time transfer to airport to connecting flight to KTM.
