Everest Region

The Everest Region, situated in the Himalayas of Nepal, is renowned for its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and of course, the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Here are some highlights of the Everest Region:

Mount Everest (Sagarmatha): Undoubtedly the most prominent feature of the region, Mount Everest stands at a towering height of 8,848 meters (29,029 feet) above sea level. Climbing Everest is a dream for many mountaineers, and even trekking to Everest Base Camp offers awe-inspiring views of the world's highest peak.

Tengboche Monastery: Situated at an elevation of 3,867 meters (12,687 feet), Tengboche Monastery is one of the most important monasteries in the Everest Region. It offers panoramic views of Everest and the surrounding peaks and is a spiritual center for Sherpas and trekkers alike.

Gokyo Lakes: Another popular trekking destination in the Everest Region, the Gokyo Lakes are a series of turquoise glacial lakes located at high altitude. The trek to Gokyo offers stunning views of Everest, Cho Oyu, and other Himalayan peaks.

Khumbu Glacier: The Khumbu Glacier is the highest glacier in the world and offers trekkers the opportunity to witness the raw power of nature up close. The glacier lies en route to Everest Base Camp and is a surreal landscape of ice and rock.

Everest Region trekking begins in the Hindu lowland and ends up at the Tibetan highland. Sherpa are the dominant people living here. Sherpa are known for their friendly attitude and hardworking nature. Though agriculture used to be their occupation in the past but nowadays they are mostly inclined towards tourism. Namche bazaar is a very beautiful Sherpa village.

Since geologically it is very rocky and cold alpine vegetation dominates this place.Khumbu which lies in the upper region of Everest is the second most popular trekking destination in Nepal after Annapurna trekking region. Since Mt.Everest is the highest peak in the world this trekking route is also famous for that. Mt.everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8156m), Makalu (8470m), Ama Dablam (6856m) along with other various mountain falls within this region.

Each year thousand of adventure admirers come here to understand, discover and experience this high held snow capped mountains, Buddhist culture, warm and friendly Sherpa people. This place is also famous for the huge Buddhist monasteries that are located here. The travelers seemed to be satisfied by being only at the base of the Mt.Everest which is the highest peak in the world.
